The Heart of Atchafalaya Museum recently attended the Erath Museum Gala. By invitation of Erath Museum chairman Warren Perrin, Carol Aucoin was invited to be one of the guest speakers. She spoke about the creation of Pierre Part Belle River museum from its humble beginnings, fund raising and the great support of the community as well as donors. She spoke about the importance of saving our culture for our future generations.

Lt. Governor William “Billy” Nungesser.
He addressed his vision of moving to preserve the culture of our small communities. Great emphasis is being addressed about preserving the future at the state level from his office. He was amazed and proud of the efforts of Pierre Part and Belle River addressing this with such great passion and hark work.
Also inducted in was Armond “Mondo” Duplantis two time Olympic Gold Medalist from Lafayette, Louisiana.
Dr. Marion Crackower also guest speaker spoke archival importance of the past, present and future.
For entertainment was Erath Middle School French Musicians. Students played the accordion and fiddles as well as singing French songs.
We were very well represented from all our board member and friends of the museum. A special “Merci!” To Warren Perrin for the special opportunity to introduce our The Heart of Atchafalaya Museum.
